Sandra Susan Anderson (Beaudry) of Blaine, WA peacefully passed away at Peace Health St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham, WA on January 17, 2019.

Sandra was born on January 8, 1952 in Wilkes-Barre, PA. She graduated from Hastings High School, Hastings, MI, and obtained her Bachelor of Science in industrial technology with a minor in industrial design from Western Washington University.

She raised, trained and showed Basenjis and retired greyhounds. She and her dogs won many Canadian and American Kennel Club ribbons, including American and Canadian Champion, Mt. Baker Kennel Club, 1993; Best of Breed, Lure Coursing at the National Specialty Basenji Club of America dog show in September, 2003, and National Champion Basenji (National Oval Track Racing Association) 2000 through 2004. She had a bit part as a dog handler in the movie “Best in Show,” a comedy released in September, 2000. It was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy). She was also a talented artist and worked with various media, including oil painting and sculpture.

She is preceded in death by her mother Constance Maria Anderson, her adopted father David Strother Anderson, and her niece Katherine Elizabeth Porter. She is survived by her husband Johnny Beaudry of Surrey, B.C., son Scott Strother Anderson, Blaine, WA, daughter Jill Marie Lee, Eustis, FL, granddaughters Ashley Anderson, Amanda Anderson, Jordan Lee and Ashleigh Lee, three great grandchildren, sister Janine Stamler Jordan, Lyn L Stamler, Diane Stamler Oraif, and Suzette Stamler Gonzalez, brother Martin Richard Stamler, Jr., four half siblings: Dana Stamler Eldridge, Jeffrey H. Stamler, Ann Stamler Schellenbach and David Stamler; one stepsister Vicki Stamler Staton; five nieces and one great niece, two aunts, 11 cousins and 13 second cousins. She is also survived by her biological father Martin R. Stamler, Sr.

Visitation, viewing and memorial service were conducted at Jerns Funeral Chapel in Bellingham on Tuesday, January 22, 2019. Sandra was cremated at her request and her ashes were mixed with those of her beloved dogs. Arrangements and cremation by Mount Baker Cremation Society.
