Agnes Smith
February 20, 1938 – October 22, 2026
Nan went on her last cruise October 22 to her final port of call, Heaven.
She was born February 20, 1938, in Kilsyth, Scotland, to George and Jemima Straiton. Nan married Nicol Smith in September 1960. Daughter Norma was born in December 1962. Together as a family they immigrated to Blaine, WA, on April 4, 1968.
Nan was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and her beloved husband, Nicol, who passed August 2001. She is survived by her daughter Norma Smith and partner Tony Risa.
Nan loved to travel. Hawaii was a favorite place. But her real love was cruising. Nan was blessed to travel the world and meet so many wonderful people on her 174 cruises.
At her request, there was a private graveside service.
Thank you to Whatcom Hospice House for the wonderful care given to Nan, making her transition from this world both comfortable and peaceful.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Nan may be made to Whatcom Hospice House or The Salvation Army. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Gillies Funeral Home and Cremation
