Craig was born November 15, 1947 to Hank and Jean Makela in Kirkland, WA and passed away peacefully 10 days before his 69th birthday at home in Seattle. Always a kind-hearted and caring person who loved his family, especially the family celebrations, Craig was an inspiration to all; always the exemplification of a thoughtful, patriotic citizen. He attended school at Stewart School for Exceptional Children headed by Gordon Hauck in Kirkland. After school he worked in sheltered workshops under the auspices of ARC of King County. Craig is survived by parents Hank and Jean Makela, siblings Anne Kristine “Kris” Makela, Richard Andrew “Rich” Makela, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The Makela family gives heartfelt thanks to all the caregivers of ARC of King county and Evergreen Hospice. A private family service will be held at a later date.
