July 13, 12:01 a.m.: Officers responded to Baldwin Place for a report of a domestic violence assault. After Officers arrived and investigated, they determined the was probable cause for the male half of the relationship for assault in the 1st Degree DV, assault 4th Degree DV, unlawful imprisonment DV, weapons apparently capable of producing bodily harm DV. Officers arrested and booked the individual into the Whatcom County jail.
July 14, 8:51 a.m.: Blaine officers responded to a vehicle prowl in the 500 block of D Street. The citizen stated it looked as if someone tried to break into his vehicle. He found the weather strip of his passenger door pushed in. Nothing from the vehicle was missing. He did not hear or see anything that night. There is no suspect at this time.
July 14, 3:50 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1300 block of Bayview Court for a report of two juveniles who ran away. Upon arrival the parent of the two teenagers packed their bags and left. She further told officers she did not want them listed as runaways she just wanted to let law enforcement know. Officers documented the contact and cleared with no further incident.
July 14, 6:19 p.m.: An officer assisted the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office with a domestic violence call. The suspect was no longer on scene, so the assisting officer circulated the area in an attempt to locate the suspect. After negative results, the officer cleared.
July 14, 7:24 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a disorderly conduct. While officers were en route, dispatch advised it was turning into a physical domestic. Officers arrived on scene and determined the issue did not become physical. All parties were separated for the evening and officers cleared shortly after.
July 15, 12:39 a.m.: Officers responded to the Peace Arch port of entry for a suspended driver. Upon arrival officers confirmed the driver had suspended driving privileges. The driver was subsequently arrested, issued a criminal citation and released with a court date.
July 16, 4:22 a.m.: An officer responded to a simple assault call where the suspect had already left. The officer contacted the victim who only wanted the incident documented and declined to pursue charges.
July 16, 8:45 a.m.: Officers were contacted by a Blaine resident who reported her bicycle was stolen over the weekend at some point. Officers documented the theft and description of the bicycle and cleared with no further incident.
July 16, 12:57 p.m.: Blaine officers responded to a burglary call in the 300 Block of Cherry Street. A citizen reported that someone pulled the screen and opened the window on the second floor of her house. She stated nothing was taken from the house. The window would not open enough for someone it fit through. At this time there is no suspect.
July 16, 3:18 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of D Street for a report of someone using a counterfeit bill to buy goods. Officers arrived and contacted the individual who stated he did not know that the bill was not real. Officers documented the parties involved and seized the counterfeit bill to be forwarded to the U.S. Secret Service. Officers cleared with no further incident.
July 16, 9:25 p.m.: Officers responded to an assault which occurred earlier. Officers are forwarding the report to the juvenile prosecutor for review for charges.
July 17, 9:39 a.m.: Blaine officers were contacted by a company in the 2100 Block of Peace Portal over concerns with an employee. Blaine officers are working with the company's human resource department to see if a crime has been committed. This report is for information only at this time.
July 17, 1:30 p.m.: An officer on patrol, in a fully marked patrol car noticed a vehicle pass him and rev its engine. The officer ran the license plate of the vehicle and found the registered owner to be DWLS 3rd. The vehicle was stopped at a business and the driver's identity confirmed. The driver was arrested, cited and released with a mandatory court date.
July 18, 9:10 a.m.: Officers responded to a citizen complaint regarding a boat leaving the Blaine Marina. The complainant advised police an individual left the Blaine Marina entrance and did not blow his horn indicating he was coming around the blind corner and was going faster than the designated Marina speed. Officers advised they would attempt to contact the boat owner and speak to him about the incident.
July 18, 12:05 p.m.: A man reported his boat had gone missing from Point Roberts overnight. The man thought the boat may have lost its moorings after a storm. He did not believe the boat was stolen. The man was told to report the missing or stolen vessel to the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office as that is the area where the boat went missing. The man also reported the boat missing with the US Coast Guard.
July 18, 2:15 p.m.: An officer on patrol noticed an elderly woman lying on the ground near a vehicle. The officer assisted the woman who explained that she had a ground level fall. Fire crews arrived and determined the woman was not injured. Police cleared without incident.
July 18, 10:20 p.m.: The Blaine school district reported three suspects came onto campus and started a small fire next to one of the buildings. Security camera caught the three suspects running from the fire. Case under investigation.
July 18, 11 a.m.: A mother reported her 17-year-old son left yesterday and has not returned home. The mother wished to report her son as a runaway. Officer took down all the pertinent information for a missing person report, and had the son entered into the system as a missing person.
July 19, 7:45 p.m.: Officers responded to the 600 block of B Street for an animal problem. The dog, contained in the backyard of a residence crawled through an opening and fled. Whatcom Humane Society was notified of the loose dog.
