April 19, 10:30 a.m.: Officers responded to the 200 block of G Street for a report of a verbal domestic disturbance. Officers arrived and determined the parties had separated. After investigating officers also determined no crime had occurred. Officers cleared with no further incident.
April 19, 2:23 p.m.: An officer was informed of a suspicious circumstance involving two juvenile males and an adult which occurred on 04/18/2019. An officer attempted to make contact with the reporting party but was informed they were out of the area. The officer later located the father and sons who advised they were joking around about popping their knuckles. Officer cleared without incident.
April 19, 3:22 p.m.: Officers were called to a possible attempted burglary. A door of a residence was found with an object sticking out of the lock. No damage appeared to have been done and no signs of entry were made. The circumstances were suspicious but did not appear to be criminal. Officers cleared.
April 19. 6:33 p.m.: Officers were contacted by WTA to check the welfare of an elderly disorientated passenger. Officers contacted the man and determined the intoxicated, irritated transient did not need or want any assistance. Officers cleared without further actions.
April 19, 7:35 p.m.: Officers took a parenting plan violation by phone. The reporting party called to report they were going to violate a parenting plan at the recommendation of CPS and the hospital. The reporting party explained a possible sexual assault occurred and was concerned for the child's safety if they were to leave with the other parent. The officer instructed the reporting party to keep custody of the child. The possible sex crime occurred in the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office jurisdiction and the information was given to them.
April 19, 10:51 p.m.: Officers responded to a disorderly male at a gas station. Officers had dealt with the male twice already during the same shift. Officers arrested the male for disorderly conduct and booked him into the Whatcom County Jail.
April 20, 4:54 a.m.: An officer responded to a transient sleeping in the bathroom of business. Employees had asked her to move along and she refused. Employees then requested she be trespassed. An officer contacted the female and told her she was now trespassed from the business. She refused to identify herself, but left.
April 20, 7:25 a.m.: Officers working routine patrol on viewed a hit and run. Officers stopped the suspect vehicle and determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol. Officers contacted the Washington State Patrol who arrived and assisted with the investigation. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Whatcom County Jail for driving under the influence.
April 20, 1:58 p.m.: Blaine police responded to the Peace Arch POE for a report of a suspended driver. An officer arrived and confirmed that the B.C. man was DWLS 3rd Degree. The man was arrested, cited and released with a mandatory court date.
April 20, 1:30 p.m.: Blaine police responded to the 200 Block of Clark Street for a report of a burglary. An unknown person entered an unlocked shop and stole a generator while the homeowner was out. This is an ongoing investigation.
April 21, 6:57 p.m.: Blaine police responded to a residence in the 500 block of 9th Street for a report of parents having issues with a teenager. Over the course of the investigation, probable cause was established for assault 4th degree for the teenage girl. The girl was booked into the Whatcom Juvenile Detention Center.
April 21, 11:29 p.m.: Blaine police were dispatched to a vandalism report in which two vehicles had tires slashed. Police checked the area but did not locate any persons of interest. The damage was documented. Victims will contact their insurance companies in the morning.
April 22, 8:09 p.m.: Two people contacted a police officer while parked along D Street. One of the women requested a civil stand-by. The officer confirmed the woman's court ordered civil stand-by. Police escorted the woman to a home in Blaine and waited while she collected her belongings. Police and the woman cleared without incident.
April 22, 11:44 p.m.: Blaine police were dispatched to a loud party complaint. Officers arrived and contacted a couple enjoying beers and music in their garage with the door open. The couple agreed to lower the music and apologized. Police cleared without incident.
April 23, 8:08 a.m.: Officer investigated a minor collision in the 900 block of Boblett Street. Neither vehicle sustained reportable damage. Officer completed this report to assist in exchange of information.
April 23, 12:35 p.m.: An Officer was informed there were two individuals near the basketball hoops at the Blaine Elementary School, sitting on the stairs, watching the kids play at recess. The officer spoke with them. They advised they were playing basketball. As they were not students, parents or faculty with the Blaine school district, they were told to leave. The officer instructed them they could return to play after school was out. The individuals cleared without issue.
April 23, 7:55 p.m.: Blaine Police were dispatched to a report of a transient man sleeping in a business's bathroom. The representative of the business wished to have the man trespasses. Police arrived and trespassed the man. He said he understood and left the property on foot. Police cleared without incident.
April 23, 2:24 p.m.: Blaine police contacted a vehicle illegally parked on city right of way without proper registration which appeared to be abandoned. A parking infraction was issued on the vehicle. Officers were able to locate a person associated with the vehicle who advised they would move it.
April 23, 6:35 p.m.: Blaine police were dispatched to report of a recovered stolen vehicle at the Peace Arch Port of Entry. Due to border related issues the crime actually occurred in Canada. Canadian Border Services would not provide written statements to Blaine police. The stolen vehicle was impounded. The suspects were interviewed and released. The case will be forwarded to the Whatcom County Prosecutors office for review.
April 24, 2:19 a.m.: An officer on patrol located a downed street sign at the D Street roundabout. It appeared a commercial tractor trailer had run over the sign as indicated by fresh tire marks. The incident was documented and referred to public works. There are no suspects in the incident.
April 24, 11:30 a.m.: Blaine police responded to the 300 Block of 3rd Street for a report of a trespassing. Officer's contacted a man who had been trespassed the night before who was now back on the property. The man was arrested and given a criminal citation with a mandatory court appearance date. The subject was then transported to St. Joseph's hospital at his request.
April 24, 1:20 p.m.: Blaine police responded to a report of custodial interference in the 700 block of A Street. During an argument between a father and mother a cell phone was broken. The man was booked into Whatcom County on charges of malicious mischief.
April 24, 7:35 p.m.: An officer handled a civil complaint by phone. A man reported his credit card was mistakenly charged by a motel and has not received compensation. The officer contacted the motel owner who planned on meeting with the reporting party and reimbursing him. The reporting party was instructed to call back if he is not reimbursed.
April 24, 7:28 p.m.: Blaine police responded to a "serious injury" collision on Drayton Harbor Road. Police arrived shortly after fire crews. The driver of the vehicle was not injured but was obviously impaired by alcohol. WSP troopers arrived a short time later and arrested the driver for DUI. Blaine police cleared without incident.
April 24, 10:42 a.m.: Officers responded to a threats complaint. The reporting party declined to press charges. The suspects had a warrant for their arrest out of Bellingham. The suspect was arrested on the warrant and booked into the Whatcom County Jail.
April 24, 7:06 p.m.: Blaine police were dispatched to check an open door on an abandoned train station. Officers cleared the building and did not locate any persons on site. BNSF was notified and sent a crew to secure the door. Police cleared without incident.
April 25, 10:04 a.m.: Officers responded to the 700 block of G Street for an individual reporting he was sprayed with lethal injection chemicals. Officers arrived and determined the staff was just cleaning the restroom of the establishment and the individual reporting the incident has a mental health disorder. Officers cleared with no further incident.
