Whatcom County environmental nonprofit Garden of the Salish Sea Curriculum held a Valentine’s-themed beach cleanup at Blaine Marine Park on February 16. Eight volunteers picked up over 100 pieces of debris and 500 pieces of glass during the cleanup. The nonprofit uses hands-on learning with shellfish to promote environmental stewardship through working with schools and the community in Whatcom County.
