Earl Robert Listebarger

February 5, 1940 – July 26, 2026

Earl Listebarger, age 86, passed peacefully into the Lord’s presence on July 26, 2026. He was born in San Diego, CA, on February 5, 1940, to Earl and Mary Listebarger Sr. In 1945, his family moved to Springville, IA, where Earl grew up. After graduating high school, he served in the Air Force for five years. After being employed in St. Louis, MO at MacDonald Aircraft for five years, he joined Dynalectron Corp. for four years, repairing aircrafts in Vietnam.

After working various places as a millwright in Oregon he moved to Birch Bay, WA in 1980, working at Intalco until early retirement. He then established Listebarger Management and maintained rental properties. He was involved in the Birch Bay View Community HOA for many years and facilitated Birch Bay sewer placement.

He enjoyed traveling, camping, bay fishing, carving, and wintering in Apache Junction, AZ. His life was marked by a love and concern for other people, and defined by his kindness, resilience, honesty, generosity and devotion to family.

He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Sharon Groen, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, in-laws, and numerous other relatives. 

A celebration of Earl’s life will be held Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 2 p.m. at North Bay Community Church, 4895 Birch Bay Lynden Road, Blaine, WA.

The family extends gratitude to the caregivers and staff of Whatcom Hospice and Seven Sisters for their compassion and care. Instead of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Whatcom Hospice Foundation or Seven Sisters Homecare, Bellingham.
