The Editor:

The Blaine Food Bank is so thankful to our local Blaine Post Office for their participation in this year’s Stamp Out Hunger Campaign.

We are now serving more than 700 families each week and the need in our local community continues to rise with the ever-increasing cost of living. Our volunteer drivers are out seven days each week picking up grocery rescue from a number of stores in the Bellingham area.

If not for their generosity and that of our community, we would be unable to meet the ever-increasing number of families we serve.

Please join us on Saturday, May 9, in the largest one-day food drive in the U.S. Residents are encouraged to leave bags of non-perishable food by their mailboxes for carriers to collect.

Thank you in advance for your participation in this worthwhile event.
