School district adds five meal pick-up sites in Blaine

Posted

The Blaine school district is adjusting its meal delivery program to allow more social distancing and convenience for those who live in town. Starting Monday, April 6, the district will no longer hand out meals at Blaine High School, but will instead distribute food from five churches around Blaine.

Pick-up at the below locations starts at 10:45 a.m. and lasts for 15 minutes:

  • Blaine Christian Fellowship, 902 Adelia Street.
  • Unitarian Free Church, 1218 Harrison Avenue.
  • Christ Episcopal Church, 382 Boblett Street.
  • Grace Lutheran Church, 702 G Street.
  • Northwood Alliance Church, 580 C Street.

By distributing food at locations throughout Blaine, the school district aims to make food pick-up more convenient and reduce the number of people at any one site, said Lisa Moeller, district public relations specialist.

The new locations are the first stops on five of the six bus routes the district is running for food pick-ups. The change won't affect those who pick-up food along the bus routes.
