A multi-unit subdivision just east of IGA Market has reached another step toward development.
Blaine City Council unanimously approved the preliminary plat for Lincoln Mews, which will bring 21 homes to the city, during its April 13 meeting.
The six-acre subdivision will be made up of duplexes and triplexes, according to city records. It is located south of H Street, west of Odell Road and east of Ludwick Avenue.
Alex Wenger, Blaine Community Development Services director, said the property has two tracts that could be used for future development. It will also have open space and a stormwater pond.
“This proposal is just to create the lots,” Wenger said. “It has nothing to do with constructing the buildings.”
The subdivision’s utilities and roadways are already built, Wenger said.
That infrastructure was approved through a 2022 conditional use permit that Bellingham-based developer Blair Murray later decided to forego for urban mixed-use zoning regulations approved in April 2025.
Council’s 7-0 vote was the final review for the preliminary plat after its approval from the Blaine hearing examiner on March 23.
