Liberty ends Blaine football season with 57–6 playoff win

Liberty quickly and decisively shutdown Blaine’s hopes to advance past the first-round playoff game at Blaine High School on November 1. The Patriots scored on each of its first three offensive plays – long runs of 56 yards, 60 yards and 58 yards – and racked up a 29–0 lead by the end of the first quarter.

Liberty went on to win 57–6, advancing to play Lakewood on November 8 in a week 10 playoff game. The Borderites finished the season with a 1–8 overall record.

Blaine senior Oscar Caridad scored Blaine’s touchdown in the second quarter on a 3-yard run. Caridad rushed for 51 yards total to finish his high school career with 1,671 rushing yards, which is eighth in school history, according to whatcompreps.com.
