If Project 2025 goes into full force in America, women will face similar sexist rules used by the Taliban to subjugate women. Many of Trump’s advisers and fellow Republican politicians are guided by that manifesto.
Project 2025 pushes women to stay home and produce children in gender-specific roles while giving ultimate power to their husbands. It removes competition to men from females and minorities, and could even be used to manipulate the freedom to vote away from women and minorities.
The following is only some of its mandates:
It would hinder women’s participation in public life.
It would hinder women from acquiring higher education.
It would hinder women from workplace advancement.
It places restrictions on birth control of any kind.
It creates racial hierarchies.
It rolls back civil rights.
It penalizes single women, and their children.
Stop this insanity. Vote like your life depends on it. It does.

Ryan Swinburnson and Erika Creydt are both associated with the Republican Party.
Creydt acknowledges being a Republican, and Swinburnson is endorsed by the
Republican Party on his campaign website. I want questions answered that we the
citizens have a right to know.
How do they view the Trump presidency? Do they support upholding cuts to SNAP
benefits for poor families while creating tax cuts for billionaires? Do they support
Trump’s immigration/deportation policy and ICE agents, who have shot and abducted
American citizens, and deported and mistreated people of color? Are they supportive of
the tariffs that hurt all of us with higher prices? Do they support the pointless,
dangerous and unending war with Iran he has us mired in?
These are important government positions that Swinburnson and Creydt are running
for. It is crucial that we know what their beliefs, principles and values are.

Thursday, Sept. 17, is Constitution Day. Blaine citizens need to think about the
unconstitutional ruination of our economy and lives because of power and money
controlling our lives regardless of constitutional protection.
Regardless of party, we are all affected by the control of medical delivery, insurance rates, food costs, equipment management, petroleum, voting procedures and other life requirements by new “rules” made without the consent of Congress.
Article 1 of the Constitution states: “The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of choosing Senators.”
We must question manipulation, the legality of control, the decisions being made by non-persons and even persons who do not accept rule of law and constitutionality. As we recognize Constitution Day, realize that our greatest power is our vote, right to petition, and investors demanding effective internal control. It’s time to speak up!

This letter concerns the nautical thief stealing crab traps in Point Roberts.
My family has been cabin owners on the Point for nearly 100 years. When I was a boy, I used to walk around to Lily Point at low tide with a stick and a potato sack and search for Dungeness crabs in the eelgrass.
In recent years, we have put crab pots offshore from our cabin in late August. This year, I put two clearly labeled stainless traps out on the Labor Day weekend. The buoys were marked with EDGE (the first four letters of my last name) and our phone number.
Unfortunately, both traps were stolen and our family was not able to enjoy our traditional crab feast. I’m sure the thief had an accomplice with him in his boat when he did the dirty deed. Someone must know who they are. Are there no ethics on the water anymore? Our family is very disappointed and out the cost of buying new traps.
