Cross-border rally held in support of Canadian-American partnership
A “Peace, Love and Handshake” rally brought dozens of Canadians and Americans under the Peace Arch in Blaine on March 22. B.C. resident Haidee Landry helped organize the rally, and grassroots organizers are planning more rallies on Saturday, April 5 and Saturday, April 12. Blaine resident Rene Laventure said she decided to attend to show goodwill to Canadians. “It feels really important to show how many people are opposed to what this administration is doing to our country,” she said. “But it was mostly to create community.”
