Blaine’s Market by the Sea will take over the G Street Plaza for another summer season starting May 23.
The market will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday through Sept. 26 at 601 Peace Portal Drive in downtown Blaine. The market is expected to have dozens of vendors that will sell everything from fabrics to woodworking, soaps, toys, plants and more.
Blaine Visitor Information Center volunteer Carroll Solomon said the Blaine Chamber of Commerce, which hosts the market, will have live music on May 23 — something it hopes to have every week.
The market on May 30 will feature the Salishan Neighborhood Association’s annual plant sale.
“There’s always something I can’t live without,” said Solomon, an avid gardener. “They bring a large selection of perennials and vegetable starts.”
Market coordinators would like to have special events this season, such as a petting zoo, flea market and a day when children are encouraged to sell goods, Solomon said. Dates for those markets will be published on blainebythesea.com.
The market will occur every Saturday, except when large events like the Fourth of July parade are scheduled.
Vendors are required to provide insurance and prepay for their space. Booth fees are $15 for chamber members, $20 for non-chamber members and $5 for nonprofits and children’s booths.
Prospective vendors and buskers may contact the chamber at 360-332-4544 and info@blainechamber.com.
