A 34-year-old Blaine man died in a single-vehicle crash on I-5 in Custer during the morning of Monday, April 21.
Mark A. Bunch, of Blaine, was driving a silver 1998 Mazda Protege sedan on northbound I-5, just north of State Route 548, about 7:30 a.m. when he left the roadway to the right and struck a tree, according to a Washington State Patrol memo. The Mazda rolled before coming to a rest on the right shoulder.
Bunch was pronounced dead at the scene, according to state patrol. He was wearing a seatbelt.
Drugs or alcohol are suspected to be involved in the crash, which is still under investigation, according to state patrol.
