Blaine Police Department Deputy Chief Brent Greene has completed two leadership milestones this month, Police Chief Rodger Funk announced in a news release Monday.
One of these milestones was the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association Trilogy Award, which Greene earned upon his completion of three courses: the Supervisor Leadership Institute, Command Leadership Institute and the Command Leadership Institute.
The second of Greene’s milestones was obtaining his Middle Management and Executive Level Career Level Certifications through the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission.
As a deputy chief, Greene is required by the state to obtain his Middle Management certification, but when Funk is absent, Greene serves as the chief, Funk wrote in the news release.
Because Greene will serve as the chief at times, Funk expected him to obtain the Executive Level certification.
The Middle Management certification required Greene to complete 40 hours of training from the Washington Association of Sheriff’s and Police Chiefs’ Credible Leadership Series, as well as 40 hours of leadership training.
To earn the Executive Level certification Greene was required to complete 80 hours of leadership courses, which he met while earning his FBI LEEDA Trilogy Award, Funk wrote.
“I am proud of Deputy Chief Greene and his commitment to leadership within our agency and throughout the community,” Funk wrote. “His continued professional development strengthens the department’s ability to lead responsibly, support its employees, and serve Blaine effectively.”
