Get ready for a weekend of fun-filled festivities expected to draw thousands to Blaine for the Fourth of July celebration, hosted by Blaine-Birch Bay Park and Recreation District 2.
The celebration begins July 3 with a new outdoor concert event, Freedom Eve.
Local rock and roll band Brushpopper will open for headliner Uncle Lucius, based in Austin, Texas, whose music is a blend of Americana, soul and roots rock.
“This is exactly the kind of event we love bringing to our community,” event coordinator Olea Mills said in a news release. “Freedom Eve is about creating an unforgettable summer experience right here in Blaine, with live music, community connection and a chance to welcome visitors from across the region.”
The concert will be from 6 to 9 p.m. on July 3 at Blaine High School’s Borderite Stadium, 1055 H St. There will be vendors and food trucks, and people are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs.
Tickets cost $25 per person and are available at bit.ly/FreedomEve.
