The Peace Arch Education Foundation (PAEF) is built on the premise that all children matter and believes that all students, families and communities have strengths, and they know best what they need.
The PAEF continued forward in 2025, building community support for the students of the Blaine school district. The PAEF, in conjunction with Birch Bay-Blaine Thrives and the Blaine school district, welcomed students, staff and families back with the Borderite Community Block Party in August. This was a great community-building activity that was much needed, with many people coming together to celebrate the opening of the 2025-26 school year. Music, raffles, free food and many fun activities were available to all. The event was filled with pride, smiles, and black and
orange.
In November, the PAEF sponsored “Toast to Tomorrow,” bringing together Blaine staff, students and business leaders. Students and staff from our high school career and technical education (CTE) programs/classes met many local business leaders. This marks the beginning of building relationships that we hope will lead to partnerships, resulting in worksite training opportunities, hands-on learning experiences and ultimately helping to develop a career-ready workforce in our community.
The PAEF set three priorities, which include supporting career and technical education as well as the arts. The foundation will also provide direct support to students as identified by school staff in the form of “yes” cards.
We are proud of our working relationships with other groups that are supporting our students. It’s important that we all work together for our students.
In 2026, the PAEF will continue to work with other agencies to make the next version of the Borderite Block Party even more inspiring. We will work to provide additional opportunities for our career and technical education students and staff to develop working relationships with local businesses.
Happy New Year to all!
