As we reflect on 2025, the Birch Bay Chamber of Commerce is proud to celebrate a year defined by strong community spirit, record-breaking participation and meaningful progress.
This year, our signature events brought residents and visitors together in memorable ways. The Polar Bear Plunge, Kite Festival, Rollback Weekend Car Show, Derby Day and National Night Out – complete with a helicopter flyover – showcased the energy and enthusiasm of our community. The Sand Sculpture Competition achieved the largest participation in its history, underscoring Birch Bay’s growing appeal as a family-friendly destination.
When weather required flexibility, Trick-or-Treat on the Berm transitioned to an indoor format thanks to the help of Blaine-Birch Bay Park and Recreation District 2. The overwhelming turnout reinforced the strong demand for family-friendly programming in Birch Bay and provided valuable insights that will help guide future event planning.
Tourism and visitor engagement remained central to our work throughout the year. Through social media outreach and the Visitor Information Center, we welcomed guests from near and far while supporting local businesses and events. We were honored to be named Tourism Business of the Year by Bellingham Whatcom County Tourism at the Bellingham Chamber of Commerce’s annual dinner – recognition that reflects the dedication of our members, volunteers, partners and supporters.
To ring in the new year, we are gearing up for the 2025 Ring of Fire and Hope and preparing to make history by attempting to break the World Record for the Largest Polar Bear Dip first thing next year.
We extend sincere thanks to our members, volunteers, partners and residents for making 2025 such a successful year.
