Justice project town hall set for Wednesday, May 24

Proposed project components include new jail, improved services

A town hall on the Whatcom County Justice Project Implementation Plan will take place remotely and in-person 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 24. Recommendations in the drafted plan include building a new Whatcom County jail as well as increasing diversion, behavioral health and re-entry services.

The Incarceration Prevention and Reduction Task Force and Whatcom County Council are hosting the town hall to share information on the drafted plan and receive feedback. Each member of the public will have two minutes to speak.
