Sunflower festival coming to Birch Bay

Posted

Home Farm UPick & Events will be hosting its first sunflower festival on August 24 and 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 8020 Kickerville Road in Birch Bay. Tickets can be purchased online at homefarm.farm or at the event for $20 per vehicle.

The event will have local vendors and several kid-friendly activities, such as face-painting, pony rides and a petting zoo. Local bands Raveis Kole and Gutter Splash will make an appearance.

The whole farm, including sunflower, pumpkin and raspberry fields, will be open for guests to explore. Grilled corn from the farm will be served throughout the weekend.

“The whole aspect of our farm is about the community, and we wanted to start out with our festival as being something the community can participate in,” said Bridgette DiMonda, event organizer and co-owner of Home Farm UPick & Events.
