Letters to the Editor: April 26-May 2

The Editor:

Along with all the others missing the old format of the police reports in the paper, I have to ask: who would miss it now since it has been reduced to boring and wasted space? We should all respect and admire our police department officers and staff members. However, if the column is not more interesting to read, maybe it’s time to leave space for more letters to the editor or a weekly joke of some sort to give readers a lift for a change.

The Editor:

Our “jewel” of a park, Lincoln Park, is being devastated by the volunteer disc golfers. Trees are being removed willy-nilly, old growth cedars and firs have already been cut down. Ferns are being trampled without regard to the natural habitat of an old growth forest. Shame on the city for allowing this to happen in what once was a beautiful off-leash dog park.

Hopefully the city has upped its insurance limits to cover the inevitable injuries that will result from disc golf in a popular dog park. My last visit there was sad indeed as the park now has trash piles, courtesy of the city.
