The Editor:
Late afternoon, coming from Cost Cutter on H Street to one of the busiest intersections in Blaine, an unexpected scene brought traffic to a halt.
The mama duck, with her small ducklings following behind in a row, made their way at a leisurely pace toward the opposite curb. Vehicles respectfully yielded, allowing safe passage to the fragile parade.
Haste is put aside, it seems, for us to share our common sense of wonder and appreciation for the sweetness in life in those precious moments while they safely reached their destination.
