Girls wrestling

The Blaine girls wrestling team ended its regular season at the Lady Knights Invitational on January 26 in Everett, where the small Borderites squad placed 22nd out of 42 teams.

Blaine’s Josy Delgadillo won her first two out of four matches by pin and finished fourth place at 120 pounds. Abigail Higgins won one out of two matches by pin and placed fourth at 155 pounds.

Blaine begins its postseason run with the sub-regional tournament at Bellingham High School on February 1.

Girls basketball

Blaine girls varsity basketball lost to Bellingham 46–42 on January 24, and then lost 53–28 against Lynden on January 28. Those losses, both away games, made Blaine’s record 6–12 overall.

Next, Blaine plays its final regular season game at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, February 1, at home against Nooksack Valley (12–6).

Boys basketball

The boys varsity basketball team lost 82–50 to Bellingham on January 25 and then to Lynden 83–51 on January 28.

After the losses, the Borderites still have a shot at the postseason and an 8–11 overall record. The Borderites play their final game of the season on Thursday, January 31, at Nooksack (6–12).
