Alix Christie in Conversation with Candace Wellman, The Shining Mountains

Posted

Alix Christie, daughter of The Northern Light’s founding editor Glennys Christie (and co-founder of the All Point Bulletin), will be presenting her new novel Shining Mountains at Village Books in Fairhaven on Sunday, June 4 from 4 to 5 p.m. The novel is based on the true story of Glennys's Scottish ancestor, whose brother was a fur traderfor the Hudson's Bay Company. He married a Nez Perce woman and founded a big family – this is the story of their lives caught in the crossfire of westward colonial expansion from the 1840s to 1870s in Washington, Idaho and Montana. It's a really important look at the pre-American history that most of us never learned in school. Plus it's a great love story!
