A whaley close encounter ...
A paddleboarder got up close with a gray whale in Birch Bay around 8 p.m. May 29. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) recommends people stay at least 100 yards away from whales, and 200 yard from killer whales in Washington.
