Plover ferry will tour Drayton Harbor for Whatcom Water Week

The historic Plover ferry will take part in a week-long string of events highlighting the importance of water quality in Whatcom County next week by touring Drayton Harbor.

Blaine community development director will speak at Cherry Point terminal lecture

Blaine community development director Michael Jones will be one of two speakers at a lecture about the state environmental review process the proposed Gateway Pacific Terminal must undergo in order to be approved by the Whatcom County Council.

County council will consider rezoning more land in Birch Bay

Nearly 500 acres of land in Birch Bay could be rezoned to allow more homes per acre if the Whatcom County Council approves the changes at its next meeting.

County council will consider Dakota Creek bridge upgrades

At its meeting tonight (Tuesday, September 13) The Whatcom County Council will consider a contract with a Federal-Way-based consulting firm for the design of seismic upgrades for the bridge spanning Dakota Creek just south of Blaine.

Grandview reopens after 19-day closure

The stretch of Grandview Road that had been closed for the replacement of a fish culvert will reopen today, Friday, September 2, at 3 p.m.
