Whatcom County voters will no longer need to wait until election day to drop their ballots of at a county-maintained drop box.

Starting October 24, drop boxes will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week at various places throughout the county, including the Blaine Library. The drive-up ballot drop boxes will take the place of the staffed, indoor drop sites that would have been opened on election day.

All the drive-up ballot drop sites will be closed at 8 p.m. on election day, November 8. The Whatcom County Auditor’s Office will begin mailing ballots out on Friday, October 21.
