Blaine Police reports, March 16 - 22

March 16, 11:47 a.m.: Police were called to a report of two teenagers in possession of multiple drugs and possibly dealing them. Officers investigated and recovered various prescription drugs and marijuana from the suspects. One was booked in to juvenile detention and the other into jail for the felony drugs violation.

March 17, 12:10 p.m.: Officers were called to the school campus on a report of a minor in possession of marijuana. The juvenile was arrested and released to her parent. A case report was forwarded to the juvenile prosecutor for review.

March 18, 9:57 a.m.: An officer on patrol observed a man wanted on an arrest warrant. The officer confirmed the warrant was current and then contacted and arrested the suspect. He was booked into jail and the warrants cleared.

March 18, 1:15 p.m.: A resident called the police department to report that a man she did not recognize was hiding in the bushes near her home. Officers arrived and contacted the barefoot wanderer. He was experiencing a mental health emergency and was given a ride to hospital for evaluation.

March 18, 3:06 p.m.: Police were dispatched to a minor collision that had occurred in the intersection of Martin and Harrison streets. Officers investigated the crash and arrested one driver for driving while suspended and operating a vehicle without ignition interlock, and cited him for the improper turn that caused the crash.

March 19, 2:45 a.m.: A person called police to report seeing someone in the 1600 block of Bayview Avenue in the bushes with a flashlight. Officers contacted the man and found that he was collecting aluminum cans from the roadsides. They thanked him for his efforts keeping the byways tidy and cleared with no further incident.

March 20, 1:33 a.m.: Police were dispatched to a possible fight or domestic argument in a vehicle parked in the 2400 block of Bell Road. Officers arrived and found a man who was alone and adamant that there had not been anyone else present and he had been just talking loudly on his phone. After a bit of investigation officers contacted his girlfriend a few blocks away at home. She explained that the couple had been together in the car and had an argument but no physical violence occurred. Officers provided the man an explanation of the possible repercussion of obstructing investigations and providing false statements to officers.

March 20, 2:20 p.m.: Police were dispatched to a residential burglary alarm. Upon arrival, an officer contacted a group of individuals walking away from the residence. They turned out to be folks shopping for a new home, escorted by a real estate agent who had not been informed the house had a nice and very loud alarm system. The residence was secured and its current owners contacted by telephone.

March 21, 4:14 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of Garfield for an ongoing landlord tenant dispute. The tenant claimed the landlord was at her front door knocking telling her she had to get out because he had evicted her and wanted to know when she was leaving. The officer arrived, but could not find the landlord in the area. The tenant said she had plans to completely move out soon.

March 22, 9:45 a.m.: A young woman reported her ex-boyfriend attempted to assault her and pinned her up against a wall. Officers investigated, contacted the juvenile suspect and arrested him for assault fourth degree with sexual motivation. After processing he was turned over to a parent, and case report was forwarded to the juvenile prosecutor’s office.
