February’s Featured Artist:

Georgia Donovan

Georgia Donovan’s art is designed to make you smile. She creates art for pleasure – both her own and others. She paints in vibrant acrylic colors on canvas, and her quirky sense of humor and whimsical approach to painting is the hallmark of her work.

When Georgia moved to Blaine in 2001, her artistic pursuits turned from jewelry to painting and drawing. In addition to commissions for businesses, home décor, logos Georgia-Donovanand business cards, she has a pet portrait line called PETRAITS.

“I love meeting the critters, as you can pick up so much personality in a meeting,” she said. See her work at georgiadonovanpetraits.com.

Georgia has also been active in promoting and advocating for art and artists in the community. In 2011, she and five artist friends established Blaine Harbor Art Gallery, an online gallery designed to promote the fine artists and artisans in northwest Whatcom County. The gallery now represents 40 artists and artisans, and produces two major shows each year.
