The Blaine girls basketball team won a physical game at home against Mount Baker in the first round of the Class 1A District Tournament on February 4, earning a trip to King's High School in Shoreline on February 6.

The boys saw their first postseason action since 2008 in an exciting matchup that got ugly at times, with slaps and hits that resonated throughout Mount Baker's domed gym.

The Blaine wrestling team was favored to win the Class 1A Sub Regional Tournament at Squalicum High School February 1, but out of the six teams in attendance Mount Baker finished first with 317 points to Blaine's 310.5.

In the second to last scheduled game of their regular season, the girls basketball team traveled to Sedro Woolley and won their seventh game in a row by shutting down their opponent's offense.

The wrestling team put on a winning show for the home crowd last week â make that two shows, as they bested both Sehome and Ferndale.
