Borderite golfers roll in opener game

Shrugging off a sluggish start, Blaine’s sophomore sensation Ryan Wallen came back to fire a 76 and newcomer Michael Andes shot a 77 as the Borderites scored a 21-stroke team victory over six other Northwest conference teams to win the opening match at Skagit Valley Golf and Country Club Thursday, March 17.

Baseball season warms up in Blaine

Despite the graduation of Kyle Olason, the team’s star left-handed pitcher, Blaine high school baseball coach Gary Clausen is confident in the crop of three seniors he hopes will make up the core of this season’s team.

Optimism abounds for Blaine track

Spring in Blaine has become synonymous with warming weather, green leaves, flowers and strong finishes at the state 2A track and field meets. Weeks from the first day of spring, the Borderite track and field team began workouts February 28.

Blaine wrestling wraps up for the season

The Blaine High School Wrestling team qualified six wrestlers for the state tournament held in the Tacoma Dome on February 18 and 19.

Lyncs scratch away at Blaine

The Lyncs of Lynden Christian high school kept Blaine goalie Caspar Harezlak busy in Tuesday’s boys soccer game at the Pipeline fields, eventually securing a 2-0 win against the Borderites in their first game of the season.
