Lyncs scratch away at Blaine
The Lyncs of Lynden Christian high school kept Blaine goalie Caspar Harezlak busy in Tuesday’s boys soccer game at the Pipeline fields, eventually securing a 2-0 win against the Borderites in their first game of the season.

After an off-season of speculation and a two-month search, Blaine high school athletic director Wayne Vezzetti announced on December 17 the hiring of Borderite assistant coach Alisa Burk to replace departed girl’s softball head coach Tim Esposito.

Grapplers earn fourth place in regionals
While the Burlington-Edison wrestling team took first and seldom-defeated Mount Baker took second, Blaine was hardly lazy by earning a fourth place team finish in last week’s regional tournament and sending six wrestlers to the state championship in Tacoma.
