Although sunny spring days stubbornly avoid the Pacific Northwest, it is still the time of year where fans of Blaine athletics can say, “It’s our time of year.” As spring sports wind down, one only needs to look at last year to see what a bounty Borderite athletes brought in.

Blaine basketball coach retires

After a 18-8 season culminating in a 5th-place state finish, the Blaine girls’ basketball team is losing someone special.

Injuries sideline Borderites in key track events

A leg injury kept one of Blaine’s fastest female runners from a competing in a key event at the Northwest Conference (NWC) track championships last Friday, though the girls’ team still finished strong with a fifth place finish and a personal best for another one of its star runners.

Blaine heads to NWC Championships strong

The Borderites track teams couldn’t have asked for a better finish. They competed in the Larry Eason Invitational on April 14 against some of the best athletes in the region and came away happy. The Borderites were up against schools from 1A classification all the way to 4A, and a few from Canada as well.

Baseball team looks to improve after loss to Mount Vernon

Blaine’s baseball team certainly has a never-give-up attitude. The Borderites played their hearts out until the end of the game, even with only two wins on the year.
