The Blaine volleyball team outplayed Meridian in a Northwest Conference (NWC) game October 8, winning in three sets and holding off a Trojan comeback in the final set.
The Borderites won 25–15, 25–12, 27–25 in the away game.
“The girls played really well together as a team,” coach Bryan Clausen said. “They passed well, ran the offense like they can and most importantly they were consistent.”
Clausen said the team will be working hard this week to build on the win, but the Borderites have a tough schedule ahead of them. They face NWC-leading Sehome at home Thursday, October 10 and have two away games scheduled for next week.
With the win, Blaine is 1–5 in conference play and sits atop Meridian and Mount Baker in the standings. The Sehome game begins at 7 p.m.
