The dominant run of the Bellingham Bulldogs, featuring former Borderite Shawn Hicks and Birch Bay resident Brett Hall, came to an end with a dull thud as the Nashville Storm rallied from an early deficit to overwhelm Bellingham 41-20 in the Minor League National Championship game at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on November 13.

Phillepe Hall threw for 430 passing yards and five touchdowns in the win, which was marred by a near brawl in the second half as both teams became chippy.
Bellingham got out fast when A. J. Hay returned an interception for a touchdown.

On Bellingham’s next possession quarterback Mark Simmons hit Eric Taylor with a long pass and then found Toby Seim for a touchdown pass on a fade pattern to go up 14-0.

The Storm settled down after that, scoring 41 consecutive points to put the game out of reach. Taylor threw a late touchdown pass to Jesh Morgan for the Bulldogs’ final points.

The highly successful season for the Bulldogs ended with a 14-1 record that included five shutouts and scoring more than 40 points seven times.
