Perhaps it was the radiant sunshine or the growing amount of depth the teams are developing but the final home track meet for the Borderites, a duel event with Bellingham and Mt. Baker, was less a competition and more a highlight reel of Blaine achievements.

Both the boys and the girls won decisively taking their matching Northwest Conference records to a sparkling 6-0. Even without standout Olivia Moore, who was still recovering from illness, the Blaine girls dominated in their traditional events.

Cherish Morrison once again had an undefeated meet, winning the 100, 200, and 400 meter runs and anchoring the 4x200 relay team. Morrison’s stunning high school record is now 51-1, her lone loss coming to teammate and good friend Kiersten Sigfusson. Sigfusson tallied three victories; on both relays and winning the 800m run.

Penina Laolagi won the discus and the shot put. Caleb Statham and Tucker Morgan were both multiple event winners for the boys.
