Blaine and Birch Bay residents turned out for Northwest Park and Recreation District 2's Picnic at the Playground, held Saturday, May 5, at Bay Horizon Park.

The event featured information on the district's many recreational opportunities, in addition to a group bike ride. May is National Bike Month and Friday, May 18, is National Bike to Work and School Day. Look for a celebration station at the Blaine schools complex on H Street and at The C Shop in Birch Bay.
