We are so lucky to have so much to see and do here in the Pacific Northwest. We just visited the George C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary in Delta, B.C., and had a wonderful time. If you haven’t had the opportunity, you should pack up your camera and children and drive across the border for an adventure of a lifetime.

No pets or bikes are allowed at the sanctuary – just old-fashioned walking.

Each season brings new and magnificent birds. Every fall thousands of ducks leave their northern and interior nesting areas and migrate to the Fraser Delta. Shorebirds, warblers and hawks are in large numbers, and snow geese peak in early November, followed by swans. There are thousands of snow geese right now, and as you explore the sanctuary hundreds more can be seen flying in.

We can’t wait to return.
