Fire crews responded to a fire that had heavily damaged an RV and nearby manufactured home in Birch Bay late last week.

North Whatcom Fire and Rescue (NWFR) and Fire District 7 firefighters, 25 in all, responded to the fire in the 7400 block of Sunset Road at about 5 p.m. Thursday, August 4. Crews were initially called to an RV fire at the address but were alerted en route that the fire had spread to a manufactured home that was about 10 feet away, NWFR assistant chief John Swobody said.
