POLICE REPORTS

December 18: A resident reported the theft of a Christmas yard display in the 8800 block of Wood Duck Way valued at $100. A hand carved, three-foot tall wooden statue of Mickey Mouse in a Santa suit was taken from the front yard overnight. There are currently no suspects in the theft.

December 17: Officers were dispatched to a roll over accident in the 400 block of D Street. Officers arrived and found a driver had fallen asleep and hit three parked cars, causing his truck to roll over. He was not seriously injured, but aid personnel were called to evaluate his injuries. Officers learned the driver had been drinking earlier in the day. After interviewing the driver officers determined he was not intoxicated. A state collision report was completed and charges for negligent driving will be sent to the prosecutor for review.

December 17: Blaine police received a request to watch for a vehicle that was last seen exiting the freeway at Birch Bay-Lynden Road, as the county had received a report of a physical domestic fight occurring in the vehicle as it traveled north on Interstate 5. A patrol officer encountered the vehicle at the intersection of Peace Portal Drive and Bell Road. The occupants of the vehicle were separated and detained until a deputy could arrive to investigate.

December 17: Officers received a report that a woman had called 911 because her son had been in an argument with another boy and was now out of control. Her son was at home under the supervision of another adult and she was at work and unable to address the problem that was occurring at her home. An officer responded to the home and contacted the woman’s 12-year-old son. The officer was able to separate the parties involved in the argument and calm the situation. The officer spoke at length with both the boy and his mother about getting him some help to deal with his anger.
