REPORTS
August 3:
Dispatch reported a group of teenage girls who were harassing
some young kids at a lemonade stand in the 1200 block of
Mitchell Street. Officer arrived and determined a 13-year-old
female had assaulted another 13-year-old female subject
by slapping her in the face and throwing a glass of Kool
Aid on her. Officer located the subject, who had fled the
area on foot, and arrested her for assault. The suspect
was released to her parent after being investigated.
August
3:
Officers were dispatched to a domestic dispute between a
mother and her 13-year-old daughter in the 600 block of
A Street. Officers arrived and found the daughter was out
of control and the mother was simply trying to discipline
her. The daughter was warned and the parent was urged to
get counseling for both of them.

2:
A citizen in the 500 block of Cedar Street called to report
that a person who had been asked to leave a residence was
now sitting across from the house in the parking lot. When
the man was again asked to leave, he stated he was going
to sit in the parking lot and watch the house. Officers
contacted the man and advised him of stalking laws. He voluntarily
agreed to leave the area.

2:
Customs inspectors contacted a vehicle as it arrived at
the Peace Arch port of entry. A check of the vehicle revealed
it was stolen from Alaska. The driver of the vehicle was
arrested and booked into jail.

Residents reported seeing a man assaulting a woman in the
alleyway in the 1100 block of 4th Street. Officers contacted
the victim, a 19-year-old girl who was crying hysterically
after being hit in the face by her 21-year-old boyfriend
during an argument. The boyfriend, who had been drinking,
denied anything had occurred and ordered the officers to
leave. He was arrested and booked into Whatcom County jail
for assault and malicious mischief.

1:
A man flagged down an officer for assistance in the 300
block of H Street after he was beaten by three male subjects
in the county just outside Blaine city limits. Officers
requested a medic to treat the man�s injuries and contacted
a Whatcom County Sheriff�s Deputy to handle the assault
investigation.

1:
An officer investigated an assault complaint in the 1000
block of H Street. A teenager reported that he made an admittedly
inappropriate remark to someone he thought was a friend,
but found out too late that the person was a stranger. The
stranger took offense to the rude remark and hit him. The
victim did not receive serious injuries and could not identify
the stranger. Case status pending further information.

1:
Whatcom County sheriff�s office (WCSO) asked Blaine officers
to assist them with dealing with a suicidal subject in the
400 block of Seafair Drive. Officers responded and provided
cover. The person was transported to the hospital by medics.
Officers cleared without incident.

1:
Officers saw a man and a woman arguing in the 600 block
of 3rd Street. Both said nothing physical occurred and the
dispute was resolved. Officers are investigating the possibility
that there is an outstanding order prohibiting them from
contacting each other. A report will be forwarded to the
prosecutor for review.

1:
A person entering the U.S. from Canada was found to have
a personal use amount of prescription medicines illegally
in his possession. Blaine officers investigated and will
forward a report to the county prosecutor. The person was
taken to the hospital for a heart condition shortly after
being informed he was under arrest.

1:
Complainant reported loud music coming from a residence
in the 1400 block of Mitchell Street where a band was practicing.
Officer arrived and heard the band playing from the street
in front of the residence. Officer made contact with the
musicians in the band and informed them of the noise ordinance.
Subjects said they would keep the music down. Officer cleared
with no further incident.

1:
Dispatch reported a 911 hang-up call at a residence in the
600 block of D Street. Officers arrived and determined there
was no emergency, but a one-year-old baby was learning how
to use the telephone. Officers cleared without further incident.
July
31:
A man reported he had parked his pick-up by the commercial
gate on Marine Drive and left his vehicle unlocked. He returned
two hours later and his $200 cell phone and $50 hedge trimmer
were missing. Suspects have been identified and the case
is under investigation.
July 31:
A truck owner reported that someone took three new batteries
from his truck in the 1300 block of Boblett Street. The
batteries are valued at $300. The incident is under investigation.

31:
Officers responded to a missing child report in the 1100
block of Mary Avenue when a 13-year-old female took a short
walk and failed to return home. Officers located the child
with four other children who were away from home without
permission. The children�s parents were called to the scene
when the children refused to cooperate with the officers.
Each child received a lecture from their parents and were
taken home by their parents.

29:
A parent in the 400 block of C Street reported her daughter
was injured by shots from a BB gun. An officer investigated
and identified two juvenile male suspects, ages 13 and 16.
The case has been referred to the Juvenile Prosecutor for
review.

29:
Complainant in the 700 block of Boblett Street reported
an ex-boyfriend has been trying to contact her through e-mail.
Complainant also stated there is a court order prohibiting
him from having any kind of contact with her. An officer
verified the restraining order is valid. Case under investigation.
