REPORTS
June 28:
Officers assisted Whatcom County sheriff�s office with stopping
a vehicle northbound on I-5. The occupants were throwing
several lit cigarettes and trash from the moving vehicle.
The driver had no valid driver�s license and he was issued
an infraction for the offense. The occupants were warned
about littering.

28:
A 17-year-old female came to the police station to report
that her mother had assaulted her. Officers investigated
the incident and determined that the daughter had, in fact,
assaulted her mother. The girl was arrested for domestic
violence assault and booked into juvenile detention.

28:
Officers received a call of a disturbance in the 400 block
of F Street involving screaming and shouting in the street.
Officers contacted the persons responsible, who advised
that the screaming was done mostly by their teenage daughter,
who was upset over being grounded. All parties involved
agreed to turn down the volume on their arguments and attempt
to contain them inside.

28:
A person told officers that a woman was having a hard time
walking down the road in the 9800 block of Allen Street
and they were concerned for her welfare. Officers checked
the area but they could not find the woman.

27:
Officers were dispatched to check on a residence in the
700 block of G Street after the 911 center received a hang
up call. It was learned that a one-year-old child had grabbed
the portable phone and probably pushed the speed dial button.

27:
An officer responded to a residence on Drayton Court to
retrieve a found semi-automatic weapon. The weapon had been
deposited in a flower bed. The weapon was taken into custody.
It appears that it may have been stolen, as the serial number
had been altered. The weapon will be transferred to the
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms for examination.

27:
WSP asked for assistance with a disabled vehicle facing
the wrong direction on an off ramp on I-5. Officers arrived
and found the person�s truck had stopped running, causing
the rear wheels to lock. This caused the truck to spin and
face the wrong direction. No one was hurt and the driver
arranged for a tow truck. Officers gave passenger a ride
to her house.

26:
The Blaine municipal court probation officer requested that
an officer check the status of a club that had been placed
on the steering wheel of a vehicle a few weeks ago. The
officer found that the club was not secure on the steering
wheel and the steering wheel had been cut.

26:
Report of a group of teenagers smoking in the 900 block
of G Street. An officer made contact with the group. One
19-year-old admitted to smoking, while the others denied
it. Extra patrol was provided to the area.

Report of a group of kids who had contacted a resident at
his home in the 400 block of 10th Street and asked for money
for the homeless. No money was given to the kids and patrol
of the area was provided.

25:
Report of a person riding a bike in the 200 block of H Street,
and carrying an infant who was without a helmet. An officer
attempted to find the duo and offer them a helmet, but they
were not located.

25:
A person in the 1200 block of 4th Street reported that her
neighbor (and former landlord) has repeatedly come to her
house and yelled at her for various reasons. Officer contacted
the neighbor and advised him to contact police about neighborhood
issues rather than yell at his neighbor. He agreed to do
so. Case closed.

25:
An anonymous citizen in the 1600 block of Peace Portal Drive
reported a juvenile playing with a remote controlled car.
She believed he was going to set it on fire. Officer checked
the area and did not observe any incendiary devices attached
to the car. The juvenile was getting ready to go home. No
action was taken.
