REPORTS
May 5:
Border Patrol agents and a Blaine police officer assisted
an 18-year-old who fell and broke his collar bone when his
bicycle chain wrapped around the wheel. The man was transported
to the hospital for treatment and his bicycle was taken
to the police station for safekeeping.

4:
Officers were dispatched to a disorderly juvenile male in
the 1000 block of Adelia Street. The caller reported that
a physical altercation was occurring. Officers contacted
the parties and discovered that a mother and son were having
a dispute that was strictly verbal in nature.

4:
Officer received a report of persons in the 800 block of
Alder Street using a laser pointer and pointing it at buildings
and people. It was determined that juveniles in a nearby
apartment had the laser pointer. The parent of the juveniles
was contacted and he said he would take the pointer away
and take disciplinary action. The reporting party was advised
of the outcome.

3:
Officers responded to the Peace Arch Port of Entry for a
report of an individual in possession of drugs. It was determined
that two women were in possession of more than 3,800 tables
of codeine and several other legend drugs. Both were booked
into Whatcom County jail.

3:
Officers received a report of a person refusing to pay for
a cab after being given a ride. Officers contacted the suspect
and arrested him for theft of services. The subject was
found to be in possession of two stolen credit cards, one
of which he had attempted to pay for the cab with. The subject
was booked into Whatcom County jail.

3:
Officer was contacted by a juvenile female who said her
ex-boyfriend had threatened her after she tried to pick
up some clothes. Both parties gave statements and they agreed
to stay away from each other.

2:
A group of juveniles turned in a puppy that had ben following
them for a few blocks. The owner called a little later looking
for the puppy. Owner and dog were soon reunited.

2:
Officer responded to the Blaine high school regarding a
possible theft. The suspect told the officer that he found
the property and was in the process of turning it in to
the lost and found. The victim did not want not want to
pursue charges and was not willing to provide a statement.
The property was returned.
May
2:
Citizen in the 1200 block of Garfield Street reported that
person(s) unknown had thrown a large rock through her kitchen
window. Case under investigation.

1:
Officers were notified that a runaway was possibly hiding
at a friends house in Blaine. Officers found the juvenile
and detained her. There was a second runaway who was also
detained. Officers contacted the mother who wanted her daughter
back. Both were taken to the station for processing. One
was taken to juvenile detention, the other was taken to
a safe house and arrangements are being made to return her
to her home.

1:
Complainant in the 300 block of Alder Street reported his
son had been using his credit card number to make purchases
worth $470.82 without his consent. Case under investigation.

1:
Officer was contacted by a motel manager in the 1300 block
of Peace Portal Drive who reported that a tenant had just
left the motel and they found damage inside. Officer contacted
Canada Customs because the tenants were en route to Alaska.
Customs turned them around and they were contacted at U.S.
Customs. They paid for the damages and the motel manager
was satisfied. They were released to continue their trip.

1:
A person in the 700 block of Harrison Avenue reported that
her ex-husband is harassing her. He calls and she received
on average three letters a day. He is currently in state
prison. Prison authorities were contacted who will talk
to the suspect. Case will be reviewed for possible charges
of harassment and violation of a no-contact order.

1:
A person saw a car parked on the side of the road in the
1700 block of Pipeline Road with a person sleeping inside
of it. Officers responded and the car was gone.

1:
A business owner in the 1600 block of Peace Portal Derive
reported finding a subject in a fenced in area removing
property from a vehicle. Subject was arrested without incident
for burglary and taken to jail.
May
1:
A student reported that someone scratched the sides of his
car with a key while the vehicle was parked in a Blaine
school parking lot. The incident is under investigation.
April
30:
Officers responded to a physical domestic violence call
in the 600 block of Boblett Street. A man had assaulted
his girlfriend and fled the scene. A police K-9 was called
in and the man was located several blocks from the residence.
He was arrested and booked into jail.
April
29:
Suspect was the passenger in a car that was referred for
secondary inspection at the Peace Arch Port of Entry. Suspect
had been drinking in Canada with friends. As he was less
than 21-years-old, he was cited for being a minor in possession
of alcohol by consumption and released.
April
29:
Suspect attempted to enter the U.S. without inspection and
was apprehended by Border Patrol agents. After learning
he was being deported, suspect requested his transportation
(a bicycle) be donated to the local Boys and Girls Club.
The bicycle was later given to the club.
April
29:
Two males were observed by a citizen in the 1800 block of
Peace Portal Drive involved in suspicious activity around
a closed business. An officer contacted the men and learned
that they were dropping off a rental trailer. No further
action was required.
