REPORTS
March 17:
An officer received a report of a transient camping on private
property in the 3900 block of H Street. The transient was
issued a warning for trespassing and camping within city
limits. The California resident was transported to the Lighthouse
Mission.

17:
An officer was nearly hit head on by a vehicle traveling
south in the northbound lane of I-5. Officers got the vehicle
stopped after a short pursuit. The elderly male driver was
incoherent. He had entered the U.S. without reporting to
US Customs. He was returned to Canada Customs..

16:
While on patrol an officer contacted a female who was walking
on the shoulder of the road in the 1400 block of Bayview
Avenue. The woman had visible injuries and she stated she
had been the victim of a domestic assault. The suspect was
contacted and arrested for domestic violence, assault 4th
degree. He was booked into jail.

16:
911 received a hang-up call from a Blaine residence in the
700 block of G Street. It was found that a parent was teaching
her daughter how to place a 911 call in case of an emergency.
No other action was taken.

15:
A resident discovered valuable household entertainment equipment
abandoned under a tree in the 9700 block of Shearwater Road.
The property was transported to the police department for
safekeeping. An investigation led officers to a nearby residence
which had been broken into and ransacked. A burglary investigation
was completed and the residence was secured.

Officers received a 911 call to a 3rd Street business. The
caller said there was an armed robbery at the business.
Officers arrived with USBP agents and determined there was
no crime. A young man made a prank call.

Officers were dispatched to a 911 hang-up call in the 5300
block of Golden Eagle Lane. While en route, dispatch advised
that the caller had called back and stated she had been
assaulted. Upon investigation, officers determined an assault
had in fact occurred. Officers placed one subject in custody
and transported him to Whatcom County jail.

15:
A business in the 100 block of 4th Street reported an adult
male had been in their restroom for several hours and had
vomited before falling asleep on the bathroom floor. Officers
contacted the male, who had been rejected entry into Canada
due to a criminal history. The male decided to continue
on his journey.

14:
Officer contacted an adult female who appeared to be in
distress in the 300 block of Peace Portal Drive. The female
had just been involved in a domestic dispute in Canada.
Officer provided a ride and assisted her in contacting a
relative to pick her up.

Complainant reported a female transient loitering around
a business in the 1400 block of H Street. U.S. Border Patrol
investigated and referred the incident to Blaine PD. The
female was without funds or lodging. She refused all aid
efforts and said she wanted to be left alone.

12:
Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Peace Portal
where it was reported a group of male juveniles were vandalizing
a business. The youths left before officers arrived but
were located a few blocks away. Two of the, had been reported
as missing. They were taken into custody and turned over
to their father.

11:
A highly intoxicated man had called earlier in the day requesting
assistance. He gave multiple false addresses, tying emergency
responses up for an hour. He called from a cellular phone
and was later located at his residence, far from the address
originally provided. He was taken to St. Joseph�s Hospital.

Officers were dispatched to a physical domestic dispute
where the parties had separated. An adult female was arrested
and booked into jail for D/V assault and interfering with
the reporting of domestic violence.
