January 20: Officers responded to a 911 hang-up call at a residence in the 1600 block of Peace Portal Drive. Upon contacting the residents, it was determined that two teenagers had been wrestling. One of them got mad, called 911 and then changed his mind. The teenagers were warned not to wrestle without a referee in the future. A parent was contacted and notified of the incident. The parent will be the referee.

January 20: A security guard at the Blaine Marina called and reported two suspicious males taking crab pots off a boat. They loaded them into a car and drove away. Officers stopped the car, and both subjects admitted to stealing eight crab pots. Both were arrested for felony theft and other changes and were booked into Whatcom County jail. The pots were returned to the owner.

January 18: A Blaine officer was on patrol and responded to a loud argument and the sound of breaking glass in a parking lot in the 700 block of Peace Portal Drive. An investigation revealed that a wife had just assaulted her spouse by scratching him with her fingernails during a heated argument. She exited the truck, picked up gravel, threw it at him and shattered the driver´┐Żs side window. The woman was taken into custody and booked into Whatcom County jail for Domestic Assault IV.

January 17: Officer was contacted by a man in California who believed his wife was living somewhere in Blaine, but he did not know where. He requested an officer contact his wife and then give him her address. Officer advised the man that he would contact the wife and check on her welfare. Officer made contact and the wife said she would not speak with the husband and requested he not be provided any information about her whereabouts. The man was advised of such.

January 17: A citizen reported a transient male changing clothes in a parking lot in the 400 block of Peace Portal Drive. Officers contacted the male who was putting on a second pair of pants. The male was also being loud earlier, causing several complaints. Officers warned the man about his behavior.

January 17: Officers received a call of a fight in progress in front of the school. Officers arrived and contacted several juveniles who said they were filming a movie. Officer advised them of the problems of filming in the manner they were.

January 15: An officer responded to the Semiahmoo Marina to assist the fire department with an individual whose head became lodged in an engine compartment. A short time later, the person was extracted.

January 15: A citizen in the 600 block of F Street called to report her dog had been run over by a pick-up. Officers checked the area for the animal which had been dragged under the vehicle. The animal was later found by the owner and it was taken to a veterinarian.

January 15: Officers were asked to look for a vehicle that had forced another car off the road. Officers checked the Blaine area but did not see the vehicle.

January 15: A local business owner in the 800 block of Peace Portal Drive saw a car in his lot when he closed for the day. It did not have license plates on it. He took a closer look and found it was unlocked with the ignition key in the ignition. He locked the vehicle and brought the key to the department. The vehicle had been stolen from an auto repair shop in Vancouver, B.C. RCMP are investigating.
