September
23: A Blaine officer observed a diesel tanker fueling
a trailer at night at a closed business in the 1500 block
of Odell. The vender was unable to produce a city business
license. The incident is being reviewed.
September 22: A citizen in the 9800 block of Harvey
Road reported an unknown person in her barn in the early
morning hours. The person left the area in a truck. Officers
located the truck and learned the subject was a relative
of the reporting party.
September 22: Report of a person in the 300 block
of H Street walking down the roadway shouting at cars. Officers
spoke with the person and provided her with phone numbers
to several different agencies that may be able to further
assist her.
September 22: Officers investigated a 911 hang-up
in the 700 block of Cedar Street. Officers could not make
contact with the resident. A key was obtained from the landlord
and entry was made in his presence. The origin of the call
was undetermined.
September 21: Two women who were believed to be in
possession of illegal drugs were contacted at the Peace
Arch port of entry. An investigation was conducted and the
women were arrested for violating the Uniform Controlled
Substance Act. Both were taken to jail.
September 21: Officers received a call from the 200
block of Marine Drive of a boat on fire. Officers arrived
at the same time as fire department personnel and cleared
shortly thereafter.
September 21: Officer was called to the Peace Arch
port of entry for several minors in possession of alcohol.
Two females were cited and released. Vehicle was held and
later released to a sober person.
September 21: Officers returned a runaway to her
home in the 700 block of A Street after she had been located
in Skagit Valley. Another associated juvenile, was transported
to the Whatcom County Juvenile Detention Facility and booked
on a warrant.
September 20: A citizen in the 600 block of 9th Street
reported her vehicle as stolen after allowing her daughter
to drive it a few blocks and back. The daughter never returned.
The vehicle was entered as a stolen/missing vehicle.
September 20: A person in the 1200 block of Garfield
reported seeing the shadow of someone looking into the window
of her home. Responding officers saw a male juvenile running
away from the house, but were unable to catch him.
September 19: Officers responded to the 1700 block
of H Street to an open business that reported a patron was
refusing to leave. Officers spoke to the man and he agreed
to leave. No further action was required.
September 19: A motorist reported a road rage incident
where another driver became angry and tossed a cold drink
in his face. An investigation is in progress.
September 19: Officers were asked to intercede in
a dispute between a boss and an employee who was being terminated
in the 1500 block of H Street. Officers responded and the
matter was settled in a manner that was acceptable to both
parties.
September 18: Blaine police investigated a child
luring case in the 1500 block of D Street. A male subject
was arrested and booked into Whatcom County jail.
September 18: A Blaine officer assisted three transients
who were denied entry into Canada by giving them a free
bus pass to Bellingham.
September 17: An officer contacted an adult male
in the 2400 block of Peace Portal who was using profane
language towards some juveniles. The man was given a warning.
September 17: Residents in the 9700 block of Lincoln
Lane complained after two teenagers harassed them by shining
a red laser into their home. Police impounded the laser
and found the 18-year-olds had also been drinking. They
are being summoned to court for the offenses...
