REPORTS
August
6: Report received that a group of juvenile males were
tossing stones at a house in the 4100 block of H Street
where a group of female juveniles were having a slumber
party. The boys were located and the activity stopped.
August 5: Police advised of a naked male wandering
south in the 9200 block of Semiahmoo Parkway. Officers made
contact with the male who stated he was conducting a religious
ritual in the bay. The man was given a ride home.
August 5: WCSO asked Blaine Officers to check on
a possible suicidal subject in the 100 block of Marine Drive.
Officers checked the area and the subject was not found.
Officers learned that he had returned to his home in the
county.
August 5: Officers received a request for mutual
aid from the WCSO in reference to a fight involving several
juveniles with baseball bats in the 8000 block of Harborview
Road. Officers arrived and assisted deputies until the situation
was under control.
August 5: Someone had moved Sylvester and Tweety
wind ornaments to a neighbors yard in the middle of
the night in the 400 block of 8th Street. The neighbor stored
the ornaments and returned them when she discovered the
owners identity. A malicious mischief report was filed.
August 5: A person reported being assaulted by a
known subject while he was walking home in the 500 block
of 8th Street. The case is under investigation.
August 4: A person in the 1100 block of 4th Street
reported a man had been near her house watching her children.
She did not recognize him and asked if officers could check
the area. The man was gone when officers arrived. Officers
provided extra patrol.
August 4: Officers on patrol saw persons littering
in the 1100 block of 3rd Street. Suspects drove off in a
van and were stopped. Driver sped away from officers and
then fled on foot. Driver was arrested a few blocks away
on multiple charges and then released.
August 4: Officers contacted a person in the 300
block of Alder Street who was demanding to get in touch
with a major news station and a major airline. Officers
discovered the person was unhappy about the border. The
person was provided appropriate contact information.
August 3: A resident reported a number of wild birds
had died in a suspicious manner. The call was referred to
the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. No infectious
outbreaks in the wildlife population have been discovered
here.
August 2: Two men stole a car trailer in Langley,
BC and a car chase with RCMP ensued. The men drove across
the border into a Blaine sidestreet and one man fled. Officers
set a perimeter and Blaine P.D. Canine Yoschi tracked and
caught the man.
August 2: Officers responded to a dog at large report
in the 600 block of E Street. The owners were not home,
and the dog was impounded. Other pets on the property were
also impounded, because they had no food or water.
August 1: A paper delivery person notified a resident
in the 700 block of C Street that someone had put bananas
in the tailpipe of her car. The resident removed the bananas
and notified police of the incident.
July 31: A resident in the 3700 block of H Street
reported that her identity had been stolen and suspects
were using her identity to defraud merchants in Los Angeles.
A report was completed and forwarded to fraud investigators
in LA.
July 31: Officers stopped a car for a traffic violation
in the 800 block of SR 543. US Border Patrol also spoke
to the driver about suspicious activity near the border.
The driver was not old enough to drive. His parents picked
him up and charges will be forwarded.
July 31: Officers assisted US Border Patrol agents
in the 100 block of Marine Drive in stopping a Canadian
who was attempting to sneak an illegal alien into Canada.
The two were taken into custody without incident and processed
by Border Patrol agents.
July 30: Officer assisted a citizen in the 500 block
of F Street who had lost power at her home. The citizen
discovered a breaker had tripped causing the outage. The
homeowner reset the breaker.
July 30: Complainant in the 9700 block of Allan Street
reported a family member stole miscellaneous property valued
at $775 following the death of another family member. Case
under investigation.
July 30: Officers assisted the fire department in
the 4100 block of H Street with a farm tractor fire. An
animals nest in the tractors manifold and a
leaky fuel line were the cause of the fire.
July 29: A dog at large was found by a citizen in
the 1000 block of Garfield Street and brought into the police
department. The clever dog escaped from custody before it
could be turned over to the Whatcom Humane Society.
July 29: Report of a suspicious person walking around
the outside of a house in the 100 block of 10th Street.
Officer determined the person was an ex-boyfriend of the
owner. There were no orders on file prohibiting contact,
and the home owner could not be located.
July 29: A person reported seeing a group of kids
walking around with a rifle in the 900 block of H Street.
Officers stopped the kids and found it was a toy rifle.
Officers spoke to the kids about the dangers of walking
around with guns, real or toy..
