July
12: Officers assisted WSP by responding to a collision
in the 300 block of state route 543. Officers took a report.
A semi-truck backed into another causing damage. There were
no injuries.
July 11: Officers served a court order on a person
in the 2400 block of Bell Road. Officers stood by while
he got some of his belongings and left.
July 11: An adult male was arrested and released
with a court date at the Peace Arch POE for driving on a
suspended drivers license. The vehicle was impounded.
July 11: Officers were advised of a subject in the
1300 block of Peace Portal Drive with an outstanding warrant
for the violation of a protection order. Officers contacted
the subject and placed him under arrest without incident
and booked him into WCSO jail.
July 11: An officer assisted WCSO by responding to
the 4200 block of Sweet Road for a report of several males
yelling at passing cars. The officer located the subjects
and warned them about their behavior.
July 11: A male subject at the Peace Arch POE was
issued a criminal citation with a mandatory court date for
possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
July 11: Officers responded to a verbal domestic
in the 2400 block of Bell Road. There was no crime and officers
assisted one of the parties in finding a place to stay for
the night.
July 11: An anonymous caller reported a domestic
dispute in the 1300 block of Peace Portal Drive. The officer
found the female had already left the scene. The male denied
any physical contact had occurred and refused to talk further
to police.
July 11: A parent in the 500 block of 11th Street
asked police officers to discipline her daughter. Officers
explained that they could not provide discipline in family
matters. Officers spoke to both mother and daughter and
cleared without incident.
July 10: Officers responded to a report of a man
yelling and the sound of things hitting walls inside a residence
in the 1600 block of Runge Street. The man told officers
he was in severe pain and declined assistance. The man was
warned to lower his noise level.
July 10: U.S. Customs reported a person driving on
a suspended license at the Peace Arch POE. An officer confirmed
her license was DWLS/R 3rd FTA/unpaid tickets. The driver
was arrested and released with a court date. The vehicle
was impounded.
July 10: An officer contacted an adult male wandering
around near the Peace Arch border crossing. The man was
refused entry into Canada and decided to return home. No
crime.
July 10: A Blaine officer responded to an aid call
for a person having chest pains in the 1500 block of Peace
Portal Drive. After medics arrived, the officer cleared
his assist.
July 10: A trucker entering the U.S. through the
Pacific Highway POE was issued a ticket for DWLS/R 3rd.
July 9: An 18-speed light green Osprey bike was located
near a gas
station in the 1300 block of Boblett Street. An officer
confiscated the bike as found property. The owner could
not be located.
July 9: Officers responded to a motor vehicle collision
involving a parked vehicle in the 900 block of Harrison
Avenue. It was determined that the driver of the moving
car was driving while under the influence of alcohol and
drugs. The driver was arrested and processed.
July 9: Officers responded to a reported assault
in the 1100 block of Mary Avenue. When officers arrived,
the parties had separated. One person was arrested and booked
into Whatcom County jail for assault. Charges are pending
for other involved parties.
July 9: U.S. Border Patrol reported a subject, in
their custody for running the Peace Arch POE, being in possession
of a small amount of marijuana. The man was cited into court
for possession of marijuana 40 grams or less and released.
July 9: Officers assisted WCSO by checking on three
individuals walking around a closed business in the 8800
block of Blaine Road. A neighbor chased the individuals
off before officers arrived. Officers checked the area and
found the business to be secure.
July 8: An individual in the 1700 block of Fern Street
reported her house had been burglarized while she was away
at work. A revolver, camcorder, shoulder holster, leather
jacket and shoulder bag were taken. The case is under investigation.
