POLICE REPORTS
April
21: A report was received that the theft of a car stereo
had occurred in the 1000 block of Blaine Road. The case
is under investigation.
April 21: Officers assisted U.S. Border Patrol with possible
smuggling. The suspects were not located.
April 21: Officers responded to a domestic dispute in the
700 block of C Street and determined it was verbal only.
One of the parties decided to stay with relatives for a
couple of days. She was provided a Salvation Army voucher
for fuel to get to the relatives home.
April 21: An officer discovered two people crabbing and
in possession of undersize crab in the 300 block of Marine
Drive during a closed season. Both people were issued citations
for the violations.
April 21: An officer provided assistance to a WCSO deputy
who was making contact with an assault suspect in the 1200
block of Runge Street.
April 21: Officers assisted U.S. Customs at the Peace Arch
POE regarding a possible drunk driver. An officer confirmed
the driver was DUI. She was processed and released with
a mandatory court appearance. Vehicle was towed.
April 20: Washington State Department of Fish & Wildlife
reported two men illegally crabbing on the Marine Drive
pier. An officer contacted the men who had an undersize
crab. The men were issued citations for the offenses.
April 20: Officers were dispatched to two suspicious males
near a business in the 200 block of D Street. The males
were approaching business patrons. An officer contacted
the men who had been denied entry into Canada and were looking
for a ride home.
April 20: An officer stood by in the 1400 block of Mitchell
Street with an elderly woman who was having chest pains.
An officer cleared when aid units arrived.
April 20: An officer completed a welfare check on a child
in the 900 block of Boblett Street for a concerned grandmother.
April 20: Someone placed chairs, a tire, and a wheel in
the middle of the roadway at Odell and Pipeline streets.
Officers cleared up the mess.
April 20: Officers responded to a report of a DV assault
in the 800 block of D Street. Upon investigation it was
determined that an assault did occur. The subject was arrested
and booked into Whatcom County jail.
April 20: An officer responded to assist U.S. Customs at
the PAC Highway POE regarding a possible drunk driver because
WSP could not respond. An officer confirmed the driver was
DUI. The driver was processed and released. The vehicle
was towed.
April 19: Officers assisted U.S. Customs at the Lynden POE
with outbound inspections. A suspicious truck was checked
and a K9 alerted on the truck. A search revealed a secret
compartment that contained a large sum of U.S. currency.
The driver was arrested by U.S. Customs.
April 19: Officers arrested a man in the 800 block of Mitchell
Street on a felony and misdemeanor warrant. He was booked
into jail.
April 19: An officer contacted a juvenile in the 1700 block
of H Street who was having difficulty telling the truth.
Parents were notified about the contact and the honesty
problem.
April 19: A report was received of a group of kids in the
1700 block of H Street videotaping themselves while damaging
a shopping cart. The case is under investigation.
April 19: U.S. Customs at the Peace Arch POE reported a
person violating a domestic violence no contact order. An
officer confirmed the order. The man was arrested and booked
into jail.
April 19: An intoxicated female contacted police at a local
business and made rude comments towards the officers. It
was later determined she was under the legal drinking age.
A summons was sent for MIP.
April 18: During a traffic stop, an Everson patrol officer
discovered possible stolen property from a Blaine business
in the 2200 block of Natures Path.
A Blaine officer advised the business of the suspicious
circumstances. The business is checking their records.
April 18: A citizen in the 500 block of Peace Portal Drive
reported receiving threatening mail. The letter was taken
into evidence. The case is under investigation.
April 18: An officer stood by while a 16-year-old emancipated
minor and her mother argued about a video game in the 700
block of A Street. The young lady returned the game to her
mother, and the dispute ended. No further police action
was requested.
April 18: When a citizen went to get his lawn mower out
of the locked shed in the 300 block of E Street, he noticed
the lock was cut and several tools were missing. Officers
will contact a possible suspect.
April 18: A clerk in the 1300 block of Boblett Street refused
service to an intoxicated adult. Blaine officers contacted
the man and gave him a ride home.
April 18: An officer assisted U.S. Customs at the Peace
Arch POE with a seizure of a small amount of narcotics from
a passenger car containing five college students from Bellingham.
The driver was arrested, processed and released.
April 18: An officer was advised of a suspended driver at
the Peace Arch POE. The officer confirmed the driver was
DWLS 3rd. The driver was arrested, processed, and released.
The vehicle was towed.
April 18: An individual in the 200 block of D Street reported
she had left her friend at a restaurant with a male subject
they had met. The male was supposed to bring her home, but
never did. An officer located the male subject and the missing
friend. No crime.
April 17: A report was received of a suspicious message
on a phone line in the 600 block of 8th Street. The case
is under investigation.
April 17: A motorist driving on a suspended California drivers
license was issued a citation for the offense at the Peace
Arch POE. The rental vehicle was impounded.
April 17: A person entering the U.S. through the Peace Arch
POE was issued a citation for possession of marijuana.
April 17: A person entering the U.S. through the Peace Arch
POE was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia.
April 17: A resident in the 300 block of Alder Street returned
from a business trip and found her significant other had
been missing for three days. The resident filed a missing
adult person report with Blaine police. The adult took his
credit card and car when he left.
April 17: A store employee in the 1500 block of H Street
found a small amount of marijuana in a garbage can. The
substance was destroyed.
April 16: A Blaine officer assisted the U.S. Border Patrol
with transporting two people to their office who had entered
the country illegally.
April 16: An officer investigated a hit and run accident
at Peace Portal Drive and Bell Street. Police are looking
for a newer black Ford Mustang with major damage on the
right side.
April 16: Officers responded to a neighborhood dispute in
the 1100 block of Mary Street. The officers found that neighborhood
children were arguing when parents intervened and became
verbally abusive with one another.
April 16: An officer investigated a hit and run complaint
in the 700 block of Cedar Street. The victim did not want
to prosecute.
April 16: An officer responded to the 800 block of 4th Street
regarding ongoing harassment. The resident is considering
a telephone trap and has requested extra security patrol.
A report was taken.
April 16: Officers responded to the 500 block of 8th Street
to check on an adult male. A four-year-old was unable to
wake the man and became scared. Officers awakened the man
who had a neighbor watch the boy while he got some sleep.
April 16: Officers responded to a possible DV order violation
in progress in the 4200 block of H Street Road. Officers
learned there were no current orders and advised the reporting
party. The suspect was gone upon officers arrival.
April 16: An officer assisted WCSO in contacting the victim
of a theft involving prescriptions in the 500 block of 8th
Street. The theft occurred in the county. Statements were
obtained by the officer and will be forwarded to WCSO.
